GONE TO MAUI

Well, not quite yet,  It's Friday, so why not go to Maui?  I was just in Lahaina a month ago, but, actually, have not stayed in the Kaanapali area for many decades.  So in a couple of hours I will fly Mokulele to Kaanapali.

But when I first awoke, I was treated to the sight of our country's largest golf ball, the Sea-Based X-Band Radar, which is symbolically appropriate today for two reasons.  First, I'll be golfing on Maui.  Second, this white sphere goes on more vacations than I do.  Yes, it was crucial in tracking that North Korea missile threat and being our best hope to prevent other countries from trying to attack us.  However, for a billion dollars, our country and Humanity would be better off advancing the Pacific International Ocean Station.

My day at the Sheraton Maui was incredibly bizarre, worthy of a movie.  I'll provide details tomorrow after I leave this hotel.  Something I learned when I was in China.  I found the whole experience, actually, to be more positive than negative, and can only praise the staff here.

Typhoon Soulik is at 120 MPH and its eye will very shortly fly right over Taipei, with serious consequences:
