Hawaii, for the fourth time in fifteen years, was named the healthiest state in the nation by the United Health Foundation. It wasn't even close:
- Hawaii: 0.919
- Vermont: 0.868
- Minnesota: 0.731
- .
- .
- Louisiana: -.844
- Arkansas: -0.893
- Mississippi: -0.894
The people of America, though, are getting healthier, as improvements were made in two-thirds of the measures. This was also the first year since these rankings were initiated in 1998 that there was not an increase in obesity.
